Darnit. :( I like Dali too, but its more because of his flamboyant character than his art works. Tehehe. Mmmhhhmm... I adore Rene Magritte better than Dali although they're both part of Surrealism, oh and very cute quirky gay David Hockney (!), Umberto Boccioni's brain more than his end products... A lot really. I can't say there is any one artist I truly like although I do have this perpetual fascination with Van Gogh. I was so utterly glad that I didn't miss it.Miao 妙https://www.blogger.com/profile/02530675682644268678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14417076.post-1161310286282618312006-10-20T10:11:00.000+08:002006-10-20T10:11:00.000+08:00Oh, did I tell you that Dali's paintings are actua...Oh, did I tell you that Dali's paintings are actually influenced by Freud's psychoanalysis theory and interpretation of dreams? Dali began to take his dreams seriously and try to seek the underlying meanings of all his dreams (no matter how ridiculous and weird they appear to be) and translated his dreams into paintings, capturing their contents in colors. I guess that explains the absurd elements in all his works which fascinates me very much (Dali is one of my favorites actually).Miao 妙https://www.blogger.com/profile/02530675682644268678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14417076.post-1161283571256675262006-10-20T02:46:00.000+08:002006-10-20T02:46:00.000+08:00Haha. Well, you can't please everyone (even when you don't try too hard to please at all). And I also agree that it is never advisable to be too quick to judge anything, but I myself am aware of this trap and so I always avoid falling into it, and my opinions towards any poem (or any form of writing/art in general) are always a combination of instinctive and contemplative thoughts (at least I try)... Have you seen his paintings before? Not quite impressive I'd say.Miao 妙https://www.blogger.com/profile/02530675682644268678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14417076.post-1161078785731545142006-10-17T17:53:00.000+08:002006-10-17T17:53:00.000+08:00What a pity! That's all I can remember for now but there's definitely more... This is one cocky bastard. A talented and very, very real kinda guy who doesn't even try too hard to please. Anyway, you shouldn't be too quick to like or dislike a poem even if it is only human nature to do so. Love him or hate him, Bukowski writes to express himself and his personality is remarkably indelible in all of his works.Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06220050478240826259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14417076.post-1161060922258697482006-10-17T12:55:00.000+08:002006-10-17T12:55:00.000+08:00Charles Bukowski?
