An extract from WHEN HARRY MET SALLY:

Sally: We are just going to be friends, ok?

Harry: Great! Friends! It's the best thing.

(On the road once more)

Harry: You realise of course that we can never be friends.

Sally: Why not?

Harry: What I'm saying is... and this is not a come-on in any way, shape or
form, is that men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets
in the way.

Sally: That's not true, I have a number of men friends and there's is no sex
involved.

Harry: No you don't.

Sally: Yes I do.

Harry: No you don't.

Sally: Yes I do.

Harry: You only think you do.

Sally: You're saying I'm having sex with these men without my knowledge?

Harry: No, what I'm saying is they all want to have sex with you.

Sally: They do not.

Harry: Do too.

Sally: They do not.

Harry: Do too.

Sally: How do you know?

Harry: Because no man can be friends with a woman he finds attractive, he
always wants to have sex with her.

Sally: So you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds
unattractive.

Harry: Nuh, you pretty much wanna nail'em too.

Sally: What if they don't want to have sex with you?

Harry: Doesn't matter, because the sex thing is already out there so the
friendship is ultimately doomed and that is the end of the story.

Sally: Well I guess we're not going to be friends then.

Harry: Guess not.

Sally: That's too bad. You are the only person I knew in New York.

(Louis Armstrong breaks into "You say neither, I say....". They've reached
the Big Apple and are unloading Harry's luggage)

Harry: Thanks for the ride.

Sally: Yeah, it was interesting.

Harry: It was nice knowing you.

Sally: Yeah.

(They shake hands)

Sally: Well have a nice life.

Harry: You too.

eeeww...this just make males look so sick. However, there are guys who do not think of sex all the time (but they do get accused of being homosexual or gay almost everytime)...its like you think of women, they call you a lustful pervert, you don't think of them, they call you a gay.heh. so I feel that friendship should not be swayed by what others think and general trends.

The stereotypes are always in the way regardless of age group. Even in JC it'll still stick to you. A guy can no longer hang out with girls without being termed as a flirt but if he hangs out with guys all of the time he'll be labelled as a gay.

And I doubt these stereotypes are going to dissipate any time soon. An evidence of mankind retaining its original primitive perspective about relationships.

yes, always take advice from one who has been afflicted by society's conventional labelling heh. ;p don't worry, i know for certain that you're not gay or a flirt. ^^
