"I tried to tell you before I left
But I was screaming under my breath
You are the only thing that makes sense
Just ignore all this present tense

We need to feel breathless with love
And not collapse under its weight
I'm gasping for the air to fill
My lungs with everything I've lost."

-It's Beginning To Get To Me by Snow Patrol

Yesssss I am a Snow Patrol freak. Haha. I can't help it! It's beautiful beautiful beautiful. It helps me dream even more and I'm drowning in words that sometimes makes too much sense to me and brings on an onslaught gush of pictures and thoughts.

We belong to the generation of Music. This is how we keep ourselves sane. This is how we channel our emotions and compartmentalize our memories, push things away and bring other things to light in little chest of drawers. I can't listen to "Fly me to the moon" because I am reminded of an idiot who tried to serenade me with his ear-breaking heart-stopping (for the wrong reasons) rendition of it over the phone cracking with static. In fact it gives me nightmares. I listen to "One Love" by Blue and see images of Yuan Yuan, Fatein, Yati, Franson, Ying Hui, Toon.... the whole lot of them in OCIP dancing their way through as the little China kids scream and we scream with them gleefully. I don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing. Losing some good songs here and there because of the memories and values I attach to them. Hearing even a slight suggestion of "One More Moment" by Ronin sends me flying to the far end of the room while DCFC reminds me of outerspace and the need to escape.

I tend to attach memories to songs too, in fact, sometimes there are 2 memories from different periods of my life attached to the same song. Like there is this song "Li Bie" I have known since Sec 2. The Ming Yin students sang us this song on our last day there, so now I think of both my Sec 2 year and Ming Yin when I listen to this song.
